The
GLRF wishes to help alleviate chronic pain and fatigue
that is so widely present in the community, yet largely
ignored. There is thus a potentially large proportion of
the population with a personal interest in supporting
the endeavours of the foundation.
Many chronic conditions
with pain and fatigue are difficult to manage and very
difficult to research. The foundation is interested in
building a financial base so that it can support
multidisciplinary research teams with novel approaches
to investigating the causes of these chronic disorders
and their potential treatments.
The GLRF will venture to
work with local community groups and sporting clubs to
develop a sense of community responsibility and
compassion to help others less fortunate in the
community. Working together, these active groups in
society can help raise funds and awareness for chronic
illness and acquire the essence of good will initiated
by Gideon Lang. The Foundation wishes to promote
excellence in those that support the foundation by their
chosen contribution, and seek excellence in those whose
research the foundation will support.
